With a rep for bringing the party wherever he lands, Canada’s BBNO$ has fast become one of the most exciting and unpredictable names in contemporary hip hop. The guy oozes rizz, as the kids say. Homegrown multi-instrumentalist hero G Flip makes their Gong debut hot off the back of every artist’s dream moment: having one of your songs go organically viral, zero psyop needed. ‘Bed On Fire’ hit the zeitgeist thanks to a timely sync in the also heated hit series Off Campus. Brisbane indie royalty Ball Park Music are festival crowd faves, they make their return to Yours and Owls armed with their extensive catalogue of emotionally intelligent lyrics, danceable hooks and blissful pop purity. Radio has long spun catchy compositions into hit singles like ‘It’s Nice To Be Alive’, ‘Cherub’, ‘Exactly How You Are’, ‘Surrender’, ‘Stars In My Eyes’ to name drop a few.
“Biblical” is how Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher once described his favourite Australian band, DMA’s, thanks to their melancholic Britpop-laced sound and rapid rise in the UK and Europe that outpaced their success here at home. Songs like ‘Delete’, ‘Silver’, ‘Lay Down’, ‘Step Up Morphine’ and their cover of Cher’s ‘Believe’ for jjj’s Like A Version have reverberated in arenas and on festival stages across the globe. Genesis Owusu uses hip-hop swagger, funk grooves and punk intensity to deliver a live show that detonates. Modern soul is fully realised at the hands of Grammy nominees, Hiatus Kaiyote, led by enigmatic performer Nai Palm. They deliver their distinctive kaleidoscope of experimental neo-soul, jazz, funk, and R & B that has caught the attention of music fans across the world, including Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Beyonce, who have drawn inspiration from their virtuosic skills and free-flowing chemistry.
Every dance floor needs a dose of drum and bass; enter Luude. Presenting unadulterated rave fuel, his sets are relentless bursts of energy, massive drops, hands-in-the-air moments, and exactly what you need to get your body moving. His mythical rework of Men At Work’s ‘Down Under’ transformed an Aussie classic into a global dance floor phenomenon.
It’s time to get vulnerable with the assistance of Middle Kids and their emotionally charged, intimately uplifting indie rock. They will let you in, they will let you sing, and they will leave you with a warm catharsis that will last long after the final note fades. Tkay Maidza turns crowds into participants rather than spectators through her live performance. Her ARIA Award-winning, effortless execution of rap permeated pop results in dance floor psalms for the ages. Songs like ‘U-Huh’, ‘Carry On’, ‘Do It Right’, ‘Grasshopper’, ‘Kim’, ‘High Beams’, serve up a high-voltage experience that lingers long after the lights go down.
Yours and Owls is expanding our event footprint in 2026. Day one sees a return to the spectacular vista of Flagstaff Hill for a traditional greenspace experience. Day two adds some grit, urban style, with music spilling out of every nook and cranny in the city centre. Think closed-off streets, big and small venues, music filling the air in plain sight and hidden away, waiting to be discovered around every corner as you wander through the laneways and streets, popping in and out, up and around at your leisure.
