Interview by Charlotte Poynton
If you haven’t already familiarised yourself with the name Holly Hebe, now is the time to do it! Having already toured Australia with The Rions, captured hearts at 2024’s BIGSOUND showcase, and even smashed it out of the park with her performance at this year’s Australian Open, Holly Hebe has truly cemented her place as an Aussie pop icon in the making.
Hebe’s latest release, ‘Bitterness’, is a heartfelt message to those consumed by a frenzy of likes and follows in this whirlwind internet age. A light-hearted yet lyrically deep look at the spiral of digital comparison and the hold that social media has over one’s emotional state, Hebe speaks to her predominately younger and impressionable audience and tells them to “Let go of the bitter-bitterness”.
Hebe dives deeper into the messaging behind her new single, being a role model to a younger audience of fans, the significance of being known as a singer-songwriter and keys player, and more in our interview!
