Comedian, musician, writer and actor Dave Hill will join as a special guest on A Perfect Circle’s highly anticipated Australia and New Zealand tour this December, alongside previously announced Puscifer.
Hill joins the tour following his standout run supporting Puscifer across their 32-date Normal Isn’t North American tour earlier this year, bringing his one-of-a-kind blend of stand-up, storytelling and live music to audiences ahead of A Perfect Circle each night.
Originally from Cleveland and now based in New York City, Hill has built an international reputation as one of alternative comedy’s most distinctive voices. Described by The Atlantic as “one of the funniest people alive”, his genre-defying live performances fuse comedy, rock music and absurdist storytelling into a show unlike anything else on the road today.
Beyond the stage, Hill has appeared in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Girls5eva, Inside Amy Schumer, Joe Pera Talks With You, After Midnight, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and numerous other television productions. He is also a regular contributor to This American Life and Malcolm Gladwell‘s Revisionist History podcast, where he serves as the resident heavy metal expert.
A lifelong musician, Hill fronts the rock band Valley Lodge, whose track ‘Go’ has become instantly recognisable as the long-running theme song for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He has also shared stages with the likes of Tenacious D, Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers, Broken Social Scene, Snoop Dogg, Quicksand and more, while continuing to release music, write books and perform sold-out shows around the world.
Formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, A Perfect Circle will return to Australia for the first time since 2013 and to New Zealand for the first time in 22 years this December.
Across a career spanning more than 25 years, the band has released four acclaimed studio albums, including their landmark debut Mer de Noms, which featured enduring fan favourites “Judith” and “3 Libras”, alongside Thirteenth Step, eMOTIVe and Eat the Elephant.
