1 March 2025 – The Sit Down Comedy Club, Brisbane – words by Lucas Bell
In conjunction with Knotfest coming to Australia, Destroy All Lines brought out stand up comedian, and viral Tik Tok sensation Luke Severeid, for a couple of stand up shows around the dates of Knotfest, and Severeid’s first Australian show ever, was the night before Knotfest Brisbane. We were in attendance at the Sit Down Comedy Club in Paddington to witness the unmedicated ADHD in action, as the set proved to be just as chaotic, as it was piss your pants funny.
The show started a lot later than advertised, but that didn’t matter to the fans that lined up, waiting for Severeid’s brand of comedy. The opening comedian did a quick 5 minutes, roasting Beenleigh, and showing up his tattoo of Astro Boy flying out of his ass crack (I’m dead serious), before Luke came out on stage to a thunderous ovation. While I won’t go into any of the jokes, the set was a lot of the material Severeid got big on Tik Tok for doing. A lot of the metal jokes, with some stuff interlaced through about his time growing up as a religious kid, and a hilarious closing bit about orgasms.
Luke did speak at length during the show about loving the country, and I hope he comes back. A very funny dude, who had a lot of love from the Brisbane crowd, and comedy before an entire day of metal would normally feel out of place, but in this instance, it was a perfect tone setter.
