Interview by Bec Harbour
You either love them or are utterly confused by them, but there is no denying that They Might Be Giants are loved in Australia with nearly their whole run of rescheduled shows selling out in October. The show is an ever evolving set that changes with every show, so don’t expect everything in order!
With their seminal album Flood turning 34 this year and a newish album, Book released in 2022, the two John’s (Linnell and Flansburgh) are still going strong with a writing partnership that began in high school. Our editor Bec caught up with John Linnell who was fending off the Scottish oversized seagulls and talked about Flood, Book and how the writing partnership of the two John’s flourishes among other things.
Note: Bec’s camera refused to work during the interview so you just have video of John and sound from both sides.
