Interview by Cody-James Henderson
Have you ever noticed that it feels like bands are constantly touring a specific location? I’m sure you’ve all seen it. You see those festivals in Europe, the UK and the US. It just seems as if the bands you always want to tour Australia always have the time for these sorts of things, but keep their time between visits down under spaced at a distance where you almost forget they exist.
Then once in a blue moon, a band keeps coming back that makes you think “hang on; weren’t they just here?” Insert here, the Hermosa Beach Punk Rock Icons Pennywise. Fresh off a visit in December 2023 for Good Things Festival and a collection of sideshows, the band is set to return to Australia less than 18 months later for a collection of massive headline shows with Swedish Punk legends Millencolin at the helm. This particular tour is approximately the bands 20th visit to Australia since 1995. An insane level of touring commitment the band are set to play some of the biggest non festival shows this coming February/March that the band has ever played in Australia
Before the band touches down next week, Cody had a chance to speak with long time bassist Randy Bradbury about the bands commitment to touring Australia, what this country means to them, the anniversaries of 2 seminal albums in 2025, playing with the recently reunited Sex Pistols again and the bands love for playing Vans Warped Tour
