GRAYSCALE has hit our shores to perform series of concerts both as the headline band in Canberra and Melbourne and as a supporting band to Australian Melbourne -based rock band Slowly Slowly on their Forgiving Spree Australian Tour in April 2025 – along with LA based band Honey Revenge.
American Rock band GRAYSCALE are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and comprises of: Collin Walsh (lead vocals/guitar), Andrew Kyne (lead guitar/backing vocals), Dallas Molster (rhythm guitar/backing vocals), and Nick Veno (drums).
And, as a band, GRAYSCALE will be taking that long overdue journey across the continent starting in Perth then heading to Adelaide, with Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to follow in the next few weeks to bring songs from their fabulous new album The Hart and songs from their extensive back catalogue to Australian fans – both old and new.
“It will be our first ever visit to Australia. I’ve never been there” said Collin, the lead singer and guitarist for GRAYSCALE. “The band is really excited to play Australia. It’s so long overdue. We will try and give fans an overview of our music from our greatest hits to our new album. Over the four albums, our fans have watched us grow and change from our punk beginnings, refining as musicians into a more alternative rock band”.
GRAYSCALE have been actively touring and recording new music since 2016. They have released four studio album 2017’s ‘Adornment’, 2019’s ‘Nella Vita’, the brilliant 2021 ‘Umbra’ and the fantastic 2025 release of ‘The Hart’. Last year GRAYSCALE toured extensively through the UK and the USA, but Australia was just a bridge too far before life became uncertain for a while.
“Yeah. We have toured a lot but the pandemic halted things. We are really excited to play in Australia both as a headline band and as a support band and to get out to see and play for our fans. We want to play a headline tour of the UK and Europe as well this year,” stated Collin. “We are also touring with Mayday Parade when we get back home. It will be a brutal turnaround from Australia to being on the road with them. I grew up listening to Mayday Parade and singing along to their albums in my car when I drove to high school. Now we are touring with them, working creatively with them”.
GRAYSCALE have been busy recording and now touring their wonderful new album ‘The Hart’. They took the time over three years to write and record the full album as a band: “live in a room – together – to get that authentic version of ourselves and our music down on record,” said Collin. GRAYSCALE, as a band, is not afraid to experiment and evolve their sound and subject matter. Their album ‘The Hart’ is a great exploration raw emotion about love, and the damage it can do to people, and how we medicate ourselves to stop the pain of relationship highs and lows. ‘The Hart’ is steeped in fantastic imagery of benzene hazes and opioid effects wrapped in alternative rock and punk melodies.
“We have been happy with fans reactions to the new album. We think the album connects with old and new fans. We wanted to explore and talk about real experiences with the darkness of medication and its effects on people. Here in the US the opioid epidemic is bad where money and profits are valued over people,” stated Collin. “We have watched in frustration as it has hit our friends and family”.
GRAYSCALE also been creatively working with Slowly Slowly and a new single ‘Kept Me Alive’ is out on 4 April 2025. “It’s been great to work with Slowly Slowly. And, we are really happy with the song,” said Collin. “I love travelling. So, I can’t wait to experience Australia. And, to play new songs live.” It will be a compact but fast and furious hit and run of shows.
