On a lively Tuesday night in Brisbane, Electric Six brought their signature brand of metal-funk disco chaos to The Triffid, delivering a performance that proved exactly why they’ve maintained such enduring appeal over three decades.
Electro duo Bri & Si opened the night with a vibrant, genre-blending set, drawing on house, progressive, techno, trance and psy-trance influences. Dressed in glitter-ball-inspired costumes, the pair brought a strong visual and performative element to the stage, clearly enjoying themselves while working to build early momentum in the room. Their set struck a balance between atmosphere and energy, delivering engaging, danceable tracks alongside confident crowd interaction and a strong sense of fun.

Electric Six — self-described metal-funk disco-punks followed with a high-energy performance that showcased the depth and longevity of their 30-year catalogue, alongside material from their most recent release. From the outset, it was clear the band remain as sharp and entertaining as ever.
Polished, dynamic and consistently engaging, the set delivered everything audiences have come to expect: blistering guitar work, tight musicianship, and an unpredictable stage presence that kept the crowd on their toes.

Newer tracks, including ‘Turquoise’, ‘Hot Numbers on the Telephone’ and ‘Panic! Panic!’, were particularly well received, generating a level of energy in the room that rivalled and at times exceeded, that of the band’s more established material.
While the audience didn’t hesitate to call out for favourites, frontman Dick Valentine maintained control of the room throughout. With charisma, humour and a distinctly theatrical edge, baguette in hand, he guided the audience through the set with the confidence of a seasoned performer, seamlessly navigating a catalogue that spans three decades.
